Mass copying in undergraduate exams has been reported from Vaish College, Bhiwani (centre-103), despite prohibitory orders under section 144, Cr PC, banning the gathering four or more persons near the centre.
The matter came to the fore when an insider shared a video clip of the entire act with The Tribune in which outsiders were shown having free access to the centre during the evening shift exams on December 31and helping candidates.
The video showed candidates sitting on the floor and using books, cheat slips and mobile sets . No invigilator is seen in classrooms during the exam time while several outsiders are seen directing the examinees to make the best use of the time to score better in exams. The video showed candidates sitting in a haphazard manner and using unfair means.
Sources claimed as several staff members had refused exam duty, the college authorities had roped in its clerical staff, peons, and lab attendants to work as invigilators.
However, BD Pawar, center superintendent at Vaish College (center-103), denied any mass copying at the centre. When confronted with video clips, he said several students were after him for adopting strictness during exams.
MDU Controller of Examination BS Sindhu also denied copying in exams.
