Nizam Club member complains of porn

The club members said they would take action in their next meeting.

Hyderabad: Ramesh Kumar Dhir, a sub-committee member of the prestigious Nizam Club here, has lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police alleging that one of the club members had sent him porn video clips on the mobilephone app Telegram.

Mr Dhir, 64, a lifetime member of the club, in his complaint named another member. “He has shared such clips in an internal group, which has a few female members. Being a senior citizen, this is mental torture for me,” Mr Dhir said in his complaint.

The club members said they would take action in their next meeting. “I am also blank on this. We will put up this issue in the next management committee meeting on January 22 and decide what has to be done,” said Mr Naresh Solanki, secretary of the managing committee of the Nizam Club.

The Nizam Club management committee has three women and seven men, with a woman as the general secretary. Police made a general diary entry regarding the complaint. “He did not provide any other proof like screenshots from his mobile. We will take action on his complaint after advice from the legal cell,” an official from the Banj-ara Hills police said. According to the IT Act, any person who spreads obscene material to women on such platforms can be cooked under Criminal Amendment Act 2013.
