5-yr-old girl dies of burns in Sevvapet
A five-year-old girl who suffered burns when she attempted to light an earthen lamp on December 30 at her grandparent’s house in Aranvoyal near Tiruvallur, died on Saturday at the Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) hospital.
CHENNAI: A five-year-old girl who suffered burns when she attempted to light an earthen lamp on December 30 at her grandparent’s house in Aranvoyal near Tiruvallur, died on Saturday at the Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) hospital.
R Ilavarasi was a resident of Vellavedu near Sevvapet. Police said the girl’s clothes caught fire from the the lamp.
Her family members and neighbours took her to a private hospital.
As she sustained more than 50% burn, doctors at the private hospital, after initial treatment, referred her to KMCH hospital for further treatment. tnn
