Traffic cop attackers get bail
Vadodara: Two persons, including a non-resident Indian (NRI), who were arrested by Gotri police for allegedly assaulting a traffic constable were granted bail by a court here on Friday. Krutharth Pandya (40) and Toshan Vats (28) were arrested in an inebriated state after the latter thrashed traffic head constable Vijay Rana near Sayajigunj underpass on Thursday.
"We produced Pandya and Vats before a local court and sought a two-day remand. The court rejected the application for the remand. The duo was granted bail by the court and they were released," said Gotri police sub inspector Mahesh Patel.
Pandya and Vats were heading towards the underpass in their car when Rana asked them to take right side. Vats, who was driving the vehicle, came out of the car and began thrashing Rana. Both were later arrested for attacking the police officer.
