SI killed in car, bus collision on highway in Karimnagar

The SI had joined service in 2012 at Kerameri police station.

Karimnagar: Sub-inspector Jilla Ambedkar of the Lingapur police station in Adilabad district died after a car in which he was travelling collided with a mini bus on the Karimnagar-Warangal highway on Sunday.

His wife Haritha and seven-month-old son Chintu who were travelling with him escaped unhurt. Three passengers of the mini bus escaped with minor injuries.

The family was returning to Lingala after celebrating Christmas at his native place in Wardhannapet mandal in Warangal district, said Manakondur assistant sub inspector S.D. Saleem. The SI had joined service in 2012 at Kerameri police station.

Based on a complaint lodged by Ms Haritha, police registered a case against the driver of the mini bus and began investigations.
