Five wanted for attempt to murder

Sulur Police have registered an attempt to murder case against S. Sathya, Mathan, Mahendran, Karthick and Saravanan on charges of assaulting M. Parthiban (23) with knife at the burial ground at Kumaran Nagar, Sulur, on Friday afternoon.

The Police said that the accused had, as planned, gathered at the burial ground to teach Parthiban a lesson as he refused to stop annoying Sathya, with who he was in love.

Sathya was married to a Selvaraj.

The Police said that as soon as Parthiban, a plumber, arrived at the spot, Mathan, Mahendran, Karthick and Saravanan assaulted him with knife and threatened him with dire consequences.

Parthiban escaped with injuries and was rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, from where he lodged a complaint.

Man found

Rajesh (43) of Kannanur, Kerala, was found dead in a lodge near the Coimbatore Railway Junction on Saturday morning.

Based on a complaint from the lodge management, the Race Course Police have registered a case.
