For Jagan Mohan Reddy, Christmas is time for his family

Christmas was celebrated in a grand manner in various places.

Anantapur: YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy celebrated Christmas Eve at Pulivendula in Kadapa district on Friday. He, mother Vijayamma, wife Bharati, sister Sharmila and brother-in-law Anil Kumar attended the service at the local church. MLAs Srinivasulu, Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy and several leaders were present too.

Christmas was celebrated in a grand manner in various places. Prashanti Nilayam in Anantapur district celebrated the birth of ‘Baby Jesus’ with pomp and fervour, a vast confluence of devotees adding to the festive atmosphere.

Christmas Eve sparkled with lights and a traditional dinner. Christmas Day was ushered in solemnly with sonorous carol singing by devotees from the United Kingdom. It turned into a lively session, ensuring the beauty and grandeur of a Prashanti Christmas morning.

It made devotees nostalgic for the ‘Silver Door Darshan’ of bygone times. Adding to the splendour of daybreak mass, a shining Cross with a stand studded with 108 candles, was placed facing the sanctum sanctorum.

Violin bands from the primary and higher secondary schools began the proceedings in succession, playing slow, soothing Christmas numbers. An exuberant Institute Brass Band played an assortment of special Christmas numbers next that was in perfect sync with the occasion.
