Pascal’s children don’t turn up to meet him

French consulate employee Pascal Mazurier, who is standing trial for charges of sexual abuse of his daughter, could not meet his children on Christmas Eve despite a High Court order that gave him visiting rights.

The High Court had on December 18 issued orders to allow the three children, including the alleged victim of sexual abuse by him, to go shopping with Mr. Mazurier on Christmas Eve. However, the children, who are in the custody of their mother, Suja Jones Mazurier, did not turn up at the pre-decided place on Thursday.

Ms. Mazurier had earlier expressed concern that her daughter would be traumatised if she came face to face with Mr. Mazurier. She also wrote to Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights on Wednesday seeking its intervention and advice on the issue.

P.B. Appaiah, counsel for Mr. Mazurier, said they would file a contempt petition before the High Court against Ms. Mazurier. Ms. Mazurier was not available for comment.
