Acid attack victim Reshma Quereshi has released a touching version of a Christmas carol in a bid to end the sale of acid in India.

In the short video, Reshma sings her own version of 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' as part of a the #EndAcidSale campaign, organised by Make Love Not Scars.

And the touching video has already gained the attention of thousands of viewers on the internet after it was uploaded on December 21.

One viewer wrote: "You are both brave and beautiful young lady! Merry Christmas and the very best of everything this New Year."

Another simply added: "I cry way too easily."

In a statement, the company said: "We at Make Love Not Scars, The Logical Indian and Ogilvy and Mather were extremely overwhelmed with the worldwide support for our #EndAcidSale campaign.

"See, we needed this support in order to ensure an end to the open sale of acid because of which 1000 girls every year are severely disfigured and made to live a life close to not existing.

"Our initial plan was to take our petition to the prime minister of India but when we realized this wouldn’t bring about concrete change, on the advice of our legal team we have changed approaches.

"We will now be filing our petition in the Supreme Court of India to ensure that appropriate change is brought about.

"We have full faith that with the enormous support we have gathered that our proposal will be heard."
