ITANAGAR: The All Nyishi Students' Union (Ansu) caled a dawn-to-dusk Capital bandh on December 28 demanding immediate transfer of governor J P Rajkhowa and arrest of former minister Kalikho Pul.
Speaking to the media persons here, Ansu assistant general secretary Tukbom Ligu said that apart from the bandh, the union would also take out a mass protest rally from Akashdeep Complex till the Raj Bhawan on December 22 in protest against the unceremonious entry of Kalikho Pul into the state leadership by spitting venom against the Nyishi community.
The student body would also protest against the governor for stage-managing the political turmoil in the state.
"There have been a lot of unconstitutional events in the state for which we have decided to revolt against the governor for exercising extra-constitutional authority and communal hatred against the Nyishis," said Ligu, while referring to the Greenfield airport case wherein the governor had allegedly written to PM Narendra Modi seeking the shifting of the airport from Hollongi to Lilabari.
