College girl sets self on fire

BELAGAVI: A college student committed suicide by setting herself on fire using kerosene at Raibag town on Monday. The reason for the suicide is yet to be determined by the police.
Aishwarya Ramchandra Mathale (17) returned home from college at 1.45 pm and took the extreme step at 2.30pm at home when nobody was there. She was studying in 1^st PUC at Laxmi Education Society’s New College Raibag.
Sources said she topped the local Adarsha Government High School last year by scoring 602 marks out of 625. Her parents then arranged her admission for PUC at Moodbidri in Alva’s Education Foundation. As the college atmosphere did not suit her, she dropped out within a month and continued to study in her hometown. A case has been registered at the Raibag police station.
