The men in khaki and scribes had a different encounter on Sunday. They donned coloured dresses and wielded the willow to showcase their cricketing skills at the ACA-VDCA Stadium.

The Police Commissioner XI met the Scribes XI, a mix of reporters, photographers, and cameramen from the electronic media.

Winning the toss, Commissioner Amit Garg put the scribes to bat first. The decision paid well, as the scribes were restricted to a modest score of 112 in the allotted 20 overs.

For the Scribes XI, K.R. Deepak, Nalla Ram, Mukesh and Naidu, and Amit put up fruitful partnerships in the middle overs.

However, the match turned out to be an interesting one in the end with four runs remaining to be scored in the last ball.

The men in khaki were restricted to 110, and the scribes won the match with just two runs in a nail-biting finish.

For the police team, Trinadh top scored with 42 runs. Naidu took two wickets in quick succession for the scribes.
