State Congress Seva Dal to launch Jan Chetna padyatra

SHIMLA: The Himachal Congress Seva Dal has announced the launch of Jan Chetna padyatra in support of the Congress “mission repeat” after the Panchayat Raj Institutions elections.

The Himachal Congress Seva Dal has announced the launch of Jan Chetna padyatra in support of the Congress “mission repeat” after the Panchayat Raj Institutions elections.

The padyatra which would be flagged off by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on January 28 from Hamipur, the home constituency of Leader of the Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha, PK Dhumal.

Addressing a press conference here, Himachal Congress Seva Dal chief Anurag Sharma said the Seva Dal padyatra would expose the current vendetta politics of the BJP and its anti-people polices at the Centre and highlighting the achievements of the Congress government under Virbhadra Singh in the state.

Besides, the Seva Dal would support the silent protest being staged by the Pradesh Congress Committee tomorrow against the BJP’s vendetta politics against the Congress leaders, he added.

Sharma said the HP Congress Seva Dal would organise its General House either in Shimla or Sundernagar in February, 2016. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is likely to participate in the General House.

Sharma also announced the new executive of the HP Congress Seva Dal that would speed up organisational activities in the state. As many as 23 organisers, 27 organising secretaries, five coordinators and three instructors have been appointed to step up Seva Dal activities that will accomplish the “mission repeat” of the state Congress in the 2017 state Assembly elections, he added.
