Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi has announced Rs 10 lakh grant for Mussoorie Girls Inter College from his MLA LAD funds.
He made the announcement during the annual day function of the school, which was celebrated with fervour and gaiety on Saturday evening.
Joshi inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp as the chief guest of the occasion.
Students recited Saraswati Vandana which was followed by a welcome song in the honour of the invited guests.
The students also presented several folk dances depicting the culture of the region and the country.
The principal of the school read out the annual report and citations and awards were given away to the students excelling in academics and sports.
Ganesh Joshi, while addressing the gathering on the occasion, commended the role of the college in raising awareness towards women issues in the town.
Without being disappointed by failures, students should remain determined and strive to achieve their set goals. Roses do not come without thorns and the mantra of success was to brave every storm in life and emerge victorious, he added.
