Embassy Office Parks on Friday announced that it will fund a flyover that will allow techies working at their Manyata Tech Park at Nagawara, ORR, to drive directly into the campus.
In-principle approval was granted at a meeting chaired by Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George with multiple civic agencies and Embassy Office Parks.
It involves bridging a 900-metre road between the Nagawara and Veerannapalya flyovers, with an exclusive arm into Manyata Tech Park. It will be executed by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).
This comes in the light of several tech firms along ORR reportedly expressing reservations about renewing their leases in tech parks in the vicinity, citing traffic snarls. Some are planning shifting to north Bengaluru. If this becomes reality, it will leave tech parks on the ORR in the lurch.
Mike Holland, CEO, Embassy Office Parks, told The Hindu that the project is intended to aid the smooth transit of traffic into, and past, Manyata Tech Park. “We also want to invest in projects around our two other campuses in the city, mainly spending on drainage and roads. We have a sanction of Rs. 450 crore,” he said.
Mr. George said, “The company has come forward to fund the Rs. 50 crore flyover near Manyata Tech Park along with other infrastructure, including developing service roads, drains, setting up escalators for skywalks around their other IT parks in the city.”
Will make further investment in infrastructure projects near their tech parks
