A recent sunny winter morning provided the perfect setting for a cricket match between St John’s School Marhauli Alumni Association and Benaras Club, led by Rohit Kapoor and Amit Singh, respectively. The mood was competitive but friendly. Naveen Singh, Abhishek Singh and Himanshu Peshwani stood out with their performances. After a wonderful display of cricketing talents St John’s School Marhauli Alumni Association had an easy win.
When Naveen Singh was declared as the best batsman someone from the spectators commented , “Aaj kaun see chakki ka aata kha ke aye ho?” that led to roars of laughter.
Naveen Kapoor’s tongue-in-cheek comments brought a lot of smiles on the faces of those present. When Gunjan Chandak entered the venue talking on her mobile phone, Naveen commented, “Ye lijiye, aa gayee President saheba sattebazi karte huye.”
