Gurgaon: A college professor from Chandu Budhera was cheated out of more than Rs 2 lakh on the pretext of trading shares. An FIR has been lodged against 4 people against three people on the recommendation of the cyber cell.
According to the police, S. Renuka, a lecturer with SGT University received a call on September 1 from from Yusuf Macchiwala, who claimed to be an executive with an online share trading company
"He said I could profit from the scheme and they would provide me with an online demat account as well.
I deposited Rs 2.3 lakh in the account number they provided. A few days later, his mobile phone was switched off," Renuka said.
"We have lodged an FIR against the accused under sections 420 (cheating) of IPC," said ASI Jai Bhagwan, the investigating officer.
