NASHIK: 'Swar Nritya Mahotsav', a unique blend of classical music and dance, will be organised by Pancham Nishad group in the city at the Kalidas Kala Mandir on December 20.
Bharatnatyam exponent Mandeera Manish and sitar player Budhaditya Mukherjee would be performing during the event. This will be the concluding event of the Pancham Nishad group that organises musical and dance events across the country with an aim to promote classical music.
Entry to this event will be free for all.
While Mandeera Manish has successfully created a place for herself in the world of Indian classical dance, Pt Mukherjee of Imdakhani Gharana of sitar too is considered as the leading sitarist of his generation.
Organiser Jaiprakash Jategaonkar of Nashik-based Friends Circle group stated that the event is produced by well-known Mantra Foundation of Mumbai. "Mantra Foundation aims to preserve the diversity in Indian classical music. The main aim is to bring the young generation closer to classical music. Hence, we are distributing free passes for this event at the Kalidas Kala Mandir auditorium from 9 am to 12 pm daily," he said.
"Pancham Nishad has organized and managed more than 700 cultural events till date with over 40 concerts in last yearr alone. The event in Nashik is going to be the last one this year. We are planning over 50 events across the country in the next six months," said Rajesh Gandhi, senior office-advisor of the group.
