Arunachal min seeks Centre's aid for FAME
ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh transport minister Jomde Kena has sought financial and technical support from the Centre for a pilot project to use hybrid and electrical vehicles in Arunachal Pradesh to maintain a clean and pure environment.
The minister said this to Union minister for heavy industry Anant Geete during a meeting of the state transport ministers on FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electrical vehicles) in New Delhi recently, an official communiqué said here on Tuesday.

Kena said 80% of Arunachal was covered by forest and the state was striving hard to keep its ecosystem clean.
The pilot project proposal would be sent to the Union ministry of heavy industry for sanction and implementation. The Union minister has assured Kena of clearing off the proposal at the earliest for effective implementation of the scheme, the communiqué added.
