SRINAGAR, Dec 15: Police arrested the kingpin of inter-district drugs smuggling gang from Watergam area of Rafiabad, Sopore today.
As per police sources, an information was received through reliable sources that kingpin of inter district drugs smuggling gang is visiting Watergam area of Rafiabad, Sopore to hand over the consignment of drugs to his associates for further distribution among the youths to make them drug addicts.
Acting over the information, police team headed by SDPO Rafiabad Shabir Khan and assisted by SHO Dangiwacha under the supervision of SSP Sopore Abdul Qayoom laid a trap and nabbed the kingpin of inter district drugs smuggling gang from Watergam area along with around 500 grams of charas.
The accused has been identified as Parvez Ganai alias Puj, son of Gulam Mohammad, a resident of Janbazpura Baramulla.
A case under FIR Number 68/15 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the drug peddler at police station Dangiwacha and more arrests are likely to be made in near future.
