Living legend Abdul Gaffar Choudhury celebrates 81st birthday

I want to live as young and not be a burden as an elderly said the composer of Ekushey song, writer columnist Abdul Gaffar Choudhury at his 81 birthda celebrations. The celebrations was organised by Ch I Europe in its own
studio on 5 Dec and was broadcasted live.

Surrounded by his fans Abdul Gaffar Choudhury said as a journalist he has witnessed many historical events including famine, war, riot, and of course Bangabandhu to Sheikh Hasina. He said he was privileged to have seen
Bangabandhu from close quarter. The birthday party was hosted by Ch I CEO Reza Ahmed Faisal Chowdhury Shoaib. Those who shared their memory of Gaffar
Choudhury were Nadeem Qadir, Minister Press, Bangladesh High Commission, UK AL President Sultan Shariff, Janomot editor Syed Nahas Pasha, journalist
Ishaque Kajol, Monirul Islam Kabir, First Secretary, Bangladesh High Commission, journalist Matiar Chowdhury, journalist Syed Anas Pasha,
journalist Ansar Ahmed Ullah, activist Khasruzaman Khasru, activist Jamal Khan, researcher Nooruddin Ahmed and Golam Mostafa of Udichi.
They said Abdul Gaffar Choudhury was a living legend, an intuition, living
witness of history who will live forever within he heart and soul of
Bengalis. Amongst Gaffar Chowdhury’s fans present  were activist Sajia Snigdha, Anjumanara Anju, Tahmina Begum Mimi, Jagannathpur Times’s Shaded Rahman, Mita Kamran,  Salima Parveen, Jubair Ahmed, Hasina Akhter, journalist Shah Emmy, film maker Moynul Husain Mukul, journalist Jewel Raj, GBnews editor & chairman Rakib Ruhel, journalist Sarwar Kabir, Bisshobanglanew24.com’s Shah
Mustafijur Raman Belal, Mahmuda Moni, Salam Akhter and many others. Gaffar Chowdhury was honoured with flowers and gifts, poems were recited by Golam Kabir, Dilu Naser & Betar Bangla presenter Nazrul Islam Okib. Shahnaj Sumi & Rajia Rahman sang songs dedicated to Gaffar Choudhury, In addition
the studio received lots of live phone calls from his fans wishing him a happy birthday. Finally a large birthday cake was cut followed by Biryani
and sweets served to guests.
