MZIMPOFU – Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force (USDF) female shottist Thulie Dlamini and her Royal Swaziland Police (RSP) counterpart, Nhlanhla Sithole are the last competitors standing from shooting ranges.

The Swaziland Rifle Association staged the last competition for 2015 styled ‘Christmas Shoot’ that was coupled with a brief awards ceremony to end what has been a fine season following the revival of the sport late last year.
The pair proved proficient, making hitting the marked target look easy. They were decorated during the event staged at Mzimpofu Shooting Range outside Mafutseni yesterday.

President William Kelly said the duo was selected among other shottists who also gave their best while armed with the 9mm pistols in the countless tournaments that were staged each month this year.
Nolwazi Thring and Mduduzi Nkambule claimed the Most Improved Female and Male, respectively, to ensure RSP swept the boards on the day. The latter was also named the Most Disciplined competitor.
“It was a good year and I shot a score of 226 out of 250 in one of the events,” said Dlamini.

Meanwhile, the full results of the Christmas Shoot could not be ascertained at the time of compiling this report. The prizes were presents provided by the competitors. The champion chose the present first. Each shottist brought a present worth no less than E100 at registration.

Kelly thanked the stakeholders and sponsors that made their events a success. They include The George Hotel in Manzini that provided the venue for executive meetings for free. Eagles Nest reportedly pumped in E8 000 in support of one of the events. The bosses from security forces in National Commissioner of Police Isaac Magagula and Full General Four Star Army Commander Lieutenant General Sobantu Dlamini also got accolades for coming on board in support of the association through tournaments.
