AKARTA: Indonesian mixed doubles Praveen Jordan and Debby Susanto booked a semifinal spot in the BWF Dubai World Superseries Finals 2015 badminton championships after trashing Danish duo Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen on Friday.

The world number eight Indonesian pair started the match with full confidence, defeating the world number four with ease by 21-8. In the second game, the Danes fought back, but the Indonesians managed to take them down 21-18.

'€œWe enjoyed the first game. Meanwhile, in the second game, [the Danes] tended to hold their moves, which caused us trouble, but then we changed our strategy and it worked,'€ Debby said after the match as quoted by the Indonesian Badminton Association'€™s (PBSI) website, badmintonindonesia.org.

For the semifinal, the Indonesians said that they would ready to fight against any pair.

'€œOur chances are quite good against any pair. We just have to stay focused on the court,'€ said Debby.

Praveen added that any pair with the strongest will to win would become the winner. '€œWe will discuss our strategy with our coach later,'€ he said.

Another Indonesian mixed doubles pair, Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir, lost a chance for the semis as its decisive play against Chinese pair Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei was canceled because Zhao had suffered an injury.
