Rural bank employees stage dharna

In response to the call given by the All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association, the officers and employees of Pragathi Krishna Gramin Bank on Friday staged a dharna in front of their head office here to press for their demands.

Stopping the privatisation of regional rural banks, extending pay parity on par with ‘Prerak’ (sponsor) banks, introduction of compassionate appointments, Pension-PF scheme, implementation of the 10th bi-partite settlement, scrapping of the Mitra Committee recommendations on Human Resources, payment of uniform gratuity, stopping outsourcing were among other major demands put forth by the agitating organisations.

Office-bearers and representatives from all the branches in 11 districts participated. Ganapati Hegde, convenor of the Joint Action Committee, K.M. Gurumurthy, Basavaraj Punyamurthy, Anand Reddy, Shridhar Joshi A.R. Parmeshwarappa, spoke and submitted a memorandum to be forwarded to the Union government.
