Nine candidates of the World of Difference programme implemented by Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation have signed an agreement of four months to continue working for the programme.

The agreement includes seed funding and salary for one year. The candidates this year will be focusing on sustainable development goals, targets and indicators.

The candidates shared their success stories for the past year ranging from the establishment of NGOS to mooting of programmes that addresses social and community issues pertaining to our communities.

Since the inception of the programme in 2010, it has supported over 109 volunteers to bestow community work reaching a larger population and energising women and youths to take responsibility of their own development.

Social investment of over $1.6 million was paid towards the volunteer programme and has seen the inbound shipment of over $10m worth of mobility devices.

Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation executive Ambalika Kutty said they were linking all activities to make significant impact that embraced technology all throughout its project execution.

Our vision is “stronger connected vanua” and this is what drives our passion.

“We are ahead of Post 2015 agenda. We are aspiring to do things differently and expecting holistic-social change that brings about entrepreneurial change that in turn has the power to address the pain of our community,” she said.

Spinal Injury Association executive director Joshko Wakaniyasi, thanked the foundation, charity partners and all relevant stakeholders for having faith in what they did best.

The Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation have invested over $15m towards Fiji’s communities since it’s inauguration in 2004.
