The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday said that any action taken on the examination held by Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) in October to the posts of first division assistants and second division assistants in various departments of the State, would be subject to the result of a petition.

A Division Bench, comprising acting Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee and Justice B. Manohar, passed the order while hearing a PIL petition, filed by Chandraiah and others. They had complained that the KPSC was not taking steps to hold the examination afresh despite the alleged leak of key answers in some places a day prior to the examination.

The petitioner said that it was alleged that the answers were circulated through Whatsapp and there were complaints with the police in this regard.
