'Oltre la menzogna': about the poetry of Elsa Morante

The book Oltre la menzogna. Saggi sulla poesia di Elsa Morante, edited by Dr Gandolfo Cascio (Department of Languages, Literature and Communication) is dedicated to the poetry of Elsa Morante (1912-1985). It offers a first critical overview of this part of her oeuvre.

The essays have been written by leading Morante-experts using various methodologies and from various philological perspectives. They deal with Morante's two published works (Alibi, 1958 and Il mondo salavato dai ragazzini, 1968) but also examine the poetic strategies she applied in her prose works. In addition, a number of poems are being published for the first time.
