Nyovest heats up NC

HIP-HOP STAR Cassper Nyovest is expected to fill up the Transka Resort at Warrenton when he performs at the second annual Summer Music Explosion on Saturday, 19 December.

Nyovest, whose real name is Refiloe Phoolo, recently filled The Dome in November, which made him the first South African musician to seal the deal for 20 000 capacity arenas.

He will be supported by well-known local based DJs such as Duke Soul, Tshego Gemini Major, Scott, Collin Carey, Chipzitto, Lloyd, Cool C, Nimza and the eight-year-old music sensation from Vryburg, MC Tsotso.

Two Motsweding FM bad boys, Papa and Big Boy, will be part of the line-up, including Shimza, Finzo from Lesedi FM, PK, KG from Pretoria and Ricki Rick.

“I am looking forward to performing for the first time at the Transka Resort. I am told it is one of the most beautiful places in the province,” Nyovest said.

“My fans will never be disappointed. I am ready to do what I do best and have fun in the process.”

Lesedi FM music compiler and internationally acclaimed DJ Finzo will be participating in the festival for the second time this year.

“I was at the Transka Resort last year and I must say that the place was on fire. The people of the Northern Cape are also fun loving. They should come in their numbers, because they going to have fun all the way.”

The Kimberley based Duke Soul, who started his musical journey as a percussionist in 2001 at the age of 13, is expected to wow his fans with sounds from his debut album, Homemade, which has 11 titles of his original work.

He is working on a new album and some of the tracks will be played at the resort.

DJ Scott, originally from Upington, indicated that the Saturday night would be fun filled.

“Night revellers can expect one of the best performances of the year. This year is going to be a blast,” DJ Scott said.

The festival organiser, Mojalefa Maijane from MJM Promotions and Productions, said it was all systems go with this year’s offering.

“People can get their tickets at Computicket. This year we are going big, hence we are bringing on board Cassper Nyovest, who managed to fill The Dome alone. He is loved by people from all corners of the country,” Maijane said.

“The artists and DJs in our line-up are making national and international headlines. Cassper Nyovest has won a number of awards this year and he is trending on Twitter and other social media platforms.”

Tickets for the festival are available at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers at R120. It will be R150 at the gate, R250 for golden tickets and VIP tickets cost R400.

Discounted tickets are available for group bookings.
