Amdavadis upbeat about 2016 half marathon

AHMEDABAD: Registration for the second edition of the half marathon, supported by The Times of India and NavGujarat Samay, which will be conducted over 5, 10 and 21 kms on January 3, is going on in full swing.
The route for the race will be a flat one that helps runners produce their personal best timings. "The weather will be at its best at the start of new year which is another factor that helps a runner," said Lihas Trivedi, director, LS Sports.
Excited about the event, Amdavad Distance Runners (ADR) president Sameer Mishra said the "Best part is that the event is organized by the runners and for the runners, hence every need of a runner is taken care of," he said.
Mishra said that like last year, this year too ADR will aim for 100 percent participation for the race. "About 300 runners from our group will be participating in this home event," he said.
