The Madras High Court Bench here has dismissed a petition filed by a former councillor from Natham in Dindigul district accusing Minister for Electricity ‘Natham’ R. Viswanathan of harassing him and seeking a direction to the police to desist from filing false cases against him.

Justice S. Vaidyanathan rejected the plea after recording the submission of Additional Advocate General K. Chellapandian that the petitioner, Balasubramanian, was a history-sheeter involved in several criminal cases since 1999 and that he was also detained under the Goondas Act on November 26.
