Kannada contingent in Carnatic bastion

KFAC has organised 18 concerts this Season to provide a platform for musicians from the State.

For the upcoming December Margazhi Season, Karnataka Fine Arts Council (KFAC) has organised a music concert series between December 11 and 13 at the TAG Centre, TTK Road, Chennai. The Council, which comprises over 10 cultural organisations from Karnataka, intends to give a platform for more than 75 artistes of Karnataka through this concert series. Collaborating with the TAG Centre and Iswar Vidya Kendra, Chennai, the organisation has organised 18 concerts.

The schedule of the festival is as follows: December 11: 11 a.m.: Inauguration, 12 p.m.: Kalavathy Avadhoot (vocal), Nalina Mohan (violin), Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma (mridangam), Sukanya Ramgopal (ghatam), 3.15 p.m.: Pavan Rangachar (vocal), B.K. Raghu (violin), Ranjani Venkatesh (mridangam), N. Amruth Kumar (morsing), 4.30 p.m.: Amrutha Venkatesh (vocal), Vittal Rangan (violin), G.S.Ramanujam (mridangam), V.S.Ramesh (morsing), 5.45 p.m.: Madhu Kashyap (vocal), Apoorva Krishna (violin), Anoor Vinodh Shyam (mridangam) and Sunaad Anoor (Khanjari), 7 p.m.: S.R. Vinay Sharva (vocal), H.N. Bhaskar (violin), B.R.Srinivas (mridangam), N. Amruth Kumar (morsing).

December 12: 9 a.m.: Vasudha Keshav (vocal), M.P. Aditya (violin), N. Vasudev (mridangam), Ranganatha Chakravarthi (ghatam), 10.15 a.m.: Chandan Kumar (flute), Charulatha Ramanujam (violin), B.S. Prashanth (mridangam), Sri Shaila (ghatam), 11.30 a.m.: Vani Satish (vocal), Mysore Srikanth (violin), Tumkur Ravishankar (mridangam) and Tumkur Shashishankar (ghatam), 2 p.m.: Sampagodu Vignaraja (vocal), K.J. Dileep (violin), A. Renuka Prasad (mridangam), Bharadwaj Sathavalli (ghatam) and 3.15 p.m.: Bangalore Brothers (Hariharan, Ashok) (vocal), M.P.Aditya (violin), Adamya Ramanand (mridangam), R. Karthik (kanjari), 4.30 p.m.: Pattabirama Pandit (vocal), B.U. Ganesh Prasad (violin), H.S. Sudhindra (mridangam), Panidra Bhaskara (ghatam), 5.45 p.m.: G. Ravikiran (vocal), K.J. Dileep (violin), Tumkur Ravishankar (mridangam), A.S.N.Swamy (kanjari), 7 p.m.: H.K.Venkataram (violin), Ashwin Anand (veena), G. Ravikiran (flute), Jayachandra Rao (mridangam) and Sri Shaila (ghatam).

December 13: 11.45 a.m.: Karnataka Sangeetha Symphony ‘Bahudari’ led by Apoorva Krishna, 2 p.m.: Mysore R.K. Padmanabha (veena), H.L. Shivashankar Swamy (mridangam), N. Gurumurthy (ghatam), 3.15 p.m.: Heramba and Hemanta (flute duet), Achyuta Rao (violin), Akshay Anand (mridangam), Bhagyalakshmi Krishna (morsing), 4.30 p.m.: Bellary Raghavendra (vocal), Mathur Srinidhi (violin), Bangalore V. Praveen (mridangam) and Giridhar Udupa (ghatam).
