AMMAN (JT) — A 12-metre long crane collapsed in Amman's Bayader area near a three-storey under-construction building on Wednesday, damaging four vehicles, the Civil Defence Department (CDD) said.
One person suffered a nervous breakdown upon witnessing the incident and was taken to Al Bashir Hospital where he was reported to be in fair condition, the CDD said.
Later on Wednesday, Greater Amman Municipality cadres cleared the street and reopened it to traffic, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Raed Haddadin, director of the building control department at the municipality, said a specialised company will issue a report on the incident on Thursday to determine whether it was caused by mechanical or human error.
