Mukadam, Mudassar, Adeel each claim five wickets in innings-and-160-run win

KARACHI: Abdullah Mukadam, Ghulam Mudassar and Adeel Malik took five wickets each to help Karachi Whites beat hosts Lahore Whites by an innings and 160 runs in their sixth-round fixture of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.

Lahore Whites, trailing by 263 runs, resumed their first innings on 100-4 and lost all their wickets on 145 as Adeel and Babar Rehman took five and three wickets respectively to enforce the follow-on.

Mukadam and Mudassar then ran riot to take five wickets each in the second innings as the hosts were bundled out for just 58 runs to surrender the match.

Meanwhile, at the Pindi Stadium, an unbeaten half-century by Muhammad Irfan (60) guided Fata to a four-wicket win over hosts Rawalpindi. Chasing 179 runs, Fata resumed their innings on 72-4 and reached the target in 53.3 overs.

At the Diamond Ground in Islamabad, Ahmed Bashir’s four-wicket haul guided Lahore Blues to a 13-run win over hosts Islamabad. Lahore Blues resumed their second innings on 95-7 and added 64 runs to their total of 159 runs. Chasing 178 runs, Islamabad were restricted on 165 in 47.1 overs as Bashir took four wickets, while Aizaz Cheema and Bilawal Iqbal claimed three scalps each.

At the National Ground in Islamabad, KRL resumed their first innings on 188-8 and added 24 runs before being dismissed by Wapda on 212. Muhammad Saad scored 56 runs to help Wapda reach 157-8 in their second innings to establish a healthy lead of 132 runs at stumps.

Meanwhile, at the Arbab Niaz Stadium, hosts Peshawar were batting on 159-2 in their second innings, trailing by 10 runs to Hyderabad, while at the Marghazar Ground in Islamabad, UBL were batting on 276-6 in their second innings with a lead of 379 runs over Port Qasim.

At the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, SSGC were batting on 233-5 in their second innings with a lead of 91 runs over SNGPL, while NBP were 165-5 in their second innings at the Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot with a lead of 303 runs over HBL.
