Miscreants have vandalized a mosque near Bajpe in Mangaluru in coastal Karnataka leading to tension in the city. The police have appealed to the people to maintain peace and expressed confidence of nabbing them.

According to the Mangaluru police, unidentified people pelted stones at the mosque in Parkowdi Dwara near Bajpe resulting in damage to glass panels and windows. They also vandalised the front portion of the mosque. It was discovered on Tuesday morning and soon a crowd gathered raising slogans against the miscreants.

The police rushed to the spot and pacified the agitated crowd. The police registered a case and commenced a probe. However, the absence of CCTV in the locality has hampered the investigation.
