UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo guaranteed that he will be “the only champion” come fight night against interim titleholder Conor McGregor at UFC 194 on Dec. 12 in Las Vegas.

Aldo was supposed to face McGregor in the main event of the UFC 189 in July, but a rib injury he sustained just two weeks prior to their showdown forced him to withdraw from the fight. However, with the “real champion” fully recovered and ready to go, Aldo guaranteed fight fans that he will walk away from the Octagon with the title on his belt.

“He's just interim, he just walks around with a belt but everybody knows that I'm the real champion," Aldo told Fox Sports. "I don't worry about what he does but I'm going to go in there and when I win, then everything will go back to normal.”

Aldo also believes McGregor only talked his way into where he is now – one of the UFC’s biggest draws and a chance to unify the featherweight belts. “Scarface” added that he could finally silence McGregor if he comes up with a win, but the Brazilian champion admitted that the “Notorious” would still find a way to talk himself into another title shot.

Meanwhile, McGregor has been constantly playing mind games on Aldo. The interim featherweight champion posted a photo on Twitter showing himself looking down at the camera lens. The photo was captioned with, “Wake up Jose. It’s all over.” The image implies that the Irish brawler will be standing victorious over Aldo at UFC 194. The Brazilian is seen looking up at his conqueror as he lays flat on the canvass in the picture.

However, according to Ido Portal, a movement expert and martial arts practitioner who is currently working with McGregor, the Irish fighter has what it takes to end up unifying the 145-pound title belts.

"I think he will do very well against Aldo," Portal told MMA Mania. "Aldo has had the chance to work like a sniper before, waiting for a sitting target, and once it's standing there, he just shoots it. With Conor, the game is a little bit different."
