Nellore flood damage put at Rs. 2,258 cr.

The Disaster Management Department has, in its preliminary report, estimated the losses due to flooding during November 16 to 18 in Nellore district at Rs.2258 crore.

Crop loss

Crop losses have been estimated at Rs.69.35 crore, horticulture at Rs.31.97 crore, animal husbandry at Rs.7.28 crore and fisheries Rs.492 crore.

Similarly, damage caused to houses was estimated at Rs. 80.56 crore, while minor irrigation resources suffered losses of Rs. 270.37 crore, panchayat raj installations suffered losses of Rs.561.58 crore, Roads and Building Department losses at Rs. 337.90 crore and Municipal Administration Department suffered Rs.255.71 crore loss.

Civic bodies

Among the urban local bodies, the Nellore Municipal Corporation suffered a loss of Rs.124.84 crore, Venkatagiri Municipality Rs.46.25 crore, Naidupeta Municipality Rs.28.85 crore, Sulluripeta Rs.25 crore, Atmakur Rs.16.97 crore, Gudur Rs.9.74 crore and Kavali Rs.4 crore.
