NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party's Delhi government has come up with a proposal to felicitate the World Cup-winning players of 1983 and 2011 during the final Test match between India and South Africa which starts at the
Ferozeshah Kotla from December 3.
"The Delhi administration wants to felicitate the World Cup-winning teams. But I do not know what will be the modalities," Justice Mukul Mudgal, who is overseeing
DDCA's preparations for the Test, said on Monday.
While the DDCA is not averse to the idea, there are a few reservations about how the event could be conducted in such a short span of time.
"It's their baby. We don't have any problem with it but they will have to do everything, starting from inviting all the cricketers. They will have to buy tickets and then send the invitation maybe," a top DDCA official told TOI on Monday. It is learnt that
Sachin Tendulkar could be here in the Capital to watch the match.
"A request has come to d reserve tickets on behalf of. Tendulkar," the official in e formed. Besides,
Virender Sehwag, who has recently retired from international e cricket, is likely to be felicitated during the Test match.
