A US-based firm Advanced Optronic Devices (International) Inc. has expressed its willingness with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to set up an LED lights manufacturing facility in Hyderabad and offered to commence commercial production by March.

Mr. Rao assured to give the land and extend all other assistance when a delegation of the company called on him on Monday, a release said.

Rs. 500 crore investment

The delegation informed Mr. Rao that AOD will tie up with another Indian company CISCA to invest Rs. 500 crore in the setting up of the plant over 50 acres.

The joint venture will also take steps for establishment of allied industries.

Mr. Rao said the government would provide the required land and other amenities within the shortest time.

The Chief Minister said the government was in favour of the project because the LED lights provided more illumination with less power consumption. The demand for LED lights will go up with their usage going up.

AOD chief executive officer Pratap Kandamuri, director Andrews and CISCA director Rajesh Uttam Chandni were present.
