EKASI: The Bekasi Police in West Java on Friday arrested a man for allegedly possessing 120 grams of crystal methamphetamine estimated to be worth Rp 1.2 billion (US$87,000) in a house raid in Kampung Dua Atas.
'We found the meth under a pillow inside the suspect's bedroom,' North Bekasi Police chief Comr. Mugiyono said on Saturday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
He added that the arrest of the suspect, identified as Irman, 35, followed reports from his neighbors about the occasional presence of strangers at the rented property, raising suspicions of drug dealing.
Irman initially rebutted the residents' allegations of dealing until the police raided the house and found the drugs, he said.
Besides confiscating the drugs, the police also seized a scale and two cell phones the suspect used for transactions, he alleged.
Bekasi Police spokesman Adj. Comr. Siswo said the suspect usually sold a gram of the meth for Rp 10 million.
Mugiyono said the suspect confessed he had got the drugs from a dealer called Babe, who was still at large. He added that Irman received Rp 1 million from Babe for each gram of meth he sold.
'Irman sold most of his meth to senior high school students and young employees [in Bekasi],' he said.
