TTD to develop Vallabha Swamy temple

November 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - KAKINADA:

Promising that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) would extend support to develop Sri Srungara Vallabha Swamy temple near Peddapuram, chairman of the TTD Chadalavada Krishna Murthy on Sunday said that a team of engineers would be deputed to the temple soon and a plan of action would be chalked out once the technical report was submitted.

Accompanied by Home Minister N. Chinna Rajappa and Kakinada Rural MLA and TTD Board member Pilli Anantalakshmi, Mr. Krishna Murthy visited the historic temple located at Tholi Tirupati village near Peddapuram.

Support sought

Observing that there were many similarities between the temple at Tholi Tirupati and the shrine on Tirumala hills, Mr. Krishna Murthy sought support from local people for developing the temple.

Referring to the TTD, the chairman said that Lord Venkateswara temple atop Tirumala had cash deposits of Rs.13,000 crore and gold jewellery weighting 9,000 tons.

“There is a steady increase in the income and as members of TTD trust board we had the responsibility of protecting the assets,” Mr. Krishna Murthy said, adding that the earnings of the shrine were being spent on education and health projects.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Krishna Murthy visited Sri Siddhi Vinayaka temple at Ainavilli village near Amalapuram and laid foundation stone for the construction of Kalyana Mandapam by the TTD.

Earnings on deposits are being spent on education and health projects, says TTD chairman
