Two men assaulted the employee of a KFC store in Chiba Prefecture and stole 900,000 yen early Sunday morning, police said.
According to police, the robbery occurred at the Kentucky Fried Chicken Noda branch at around 2 a.m. Fuji TV reported that the 42-year-old male employee was taking the trash out the back when he was accosted by two men.
Police said the men beat the employee and dragged him back inside the store. They then threatened him with a pair of scissors and said he wouldn't be killed if he handed over the money from the safe. They bound the employee with tape and fled with about 900,000 yen from the safe, as well as taking the employee's wallet.
The other employees had already gone home when the robbery took place, police said.

According to NHK, they also took a bucket of chicken. Poor stomachs.

Was that on Chicken Day? We had KFC that day too.

Steve: I think so. Am glad you got your chicken before they robbed the place.

Dumb on the robbers part. I guess they thought they could "scare" him into not reporting to police what happened by knowing his address. If the cops had any sense, they would closely watch this guy since it has been reported and the moment they try something nab them.

That even took his wallet? I mean, taking 9 grand off a corporation from off is still bad but beating up a 42 year old man and taking his wallet in the process when he is obviously broke is messed up. they will probably get about 5 years if it's a first offense. No way it will get suspended.

Scissors? They would have been beaten to a pulp in my old neighborhood in the U.S. - providing the staff could stop laughing first.

"the men beat the employee and dragged him back inside the store. "
I so hope these "men" are caught, and then, with their hands and feet bound, subject to a revenge beating carried out by the KFC employee, assuming his injuries allow him to do it. If assistance is required, I am glad to help out.

Ehh... something stinks. If everyone but this guy had already gone home, why is there still 900,000 yen in the store that this guy emptying the trash can get access to? Don't they make a nightly bank deposit?

900,000 yen? That's not chicken feed !

Ok guys seriously. Enough with the chicken puns.
