Auto driver from Gujarat found hanging in Mumbai Metro station lavatory

A 29-year-old man committed suicide in the lavatory of the Andheri Metro station between Saturday night and Sunday. The deceased, Paresh Parmar, left behind a suicide note where he mentioned having an altercation with his mother.

MUMBAI: A 29-year-old man committed suicide in the lavatory of the Andheri Metro station between Saturday night and Sunday. The deceased, Paresh Parmar, left behind a suicide note where he mentioned having an altercation with his mother. Parmar is a native of Ankleshwar in Gujarat. The police informed his family of his death.
The incident came to light when the conservancy staff arrived at work around midnight and spotted Parmar hanging from a water pipe.
One of the staffers then called up the police emergency number '100' and informed them of the body. The police found a cellphone on the body and dialled some of his contacts to establish his identity and address. The body was then sent for an autopsy, reports of which are awaited. A case of accidental death was registered by the Andheri police.
Parmar worked as an autorickshaw driver. His mother, Manuben, and younger brother, Dineshbhai, arrived in Mumbai on Sunday to claim Parmar's body.
A Mumbai Metro spokesperson said, "On Saturday night, in an unfortunate incident, a 20-year-old youth committed suicide at Andheri Metro station hanging himself with a water pipe in one of our toilets. The police was immediately informed and they are investigating the matter. Mumbai Metro officials are providing all support and co-operation to the police in the investigation."
