Tamasha box office collection: Deepika-Ranbir's film shows growth on its second day, but behind Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's Tamasha has shown growth at the Indian box office on its second day. The film has earned Rs 24.04 crore in two days of its release. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the collections of the film.

Amidst all the promotions, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer released across 2100 screens across the country. The film registered an average of 80% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes on its second day.

The film received positive reviews from the viewers and critics and the word of mouth took its business upwards on Saturday. But, the film still fails to beat the box office collection of Ranbir and Deepika's 2013 film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. YJHD earned Rs 39.61 crore in its two days of release.

Tamasha has collected a total of Rs 50 crore at the worldwide box office in two days. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Tamasha has been made with a whopping budget of over Rs 60 crore. The film already gathered a lot of attention because of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Tamasha traces the journey of Ved and Tara played by Ranbir and Deepika, who meet in Corsica. It revolves around two youngsters who are on a journey of self-discovery. The crew began the shooting of the film in Shimla and later travelled to Delhi, Kolkata and Corsica in France. They finally wrapped up the shooting in Tokyo. The film hit the screens on November 27.
