(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Doha is hosting the first forum of the officials of departments and bodies responsible for endowments (Awqaf) in the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) member-states.
The two-day forum which opens today will be chaired by Qatar. It will discuss topics and issues relating to endowment activities, means of enhancing and developing them as well as promoting co-operation and exchange of expertise within the GCC member-states.
The event comes in the implementation of the minutes of the Second Meeting of the GCC ministers of endowments held in Doha in May, especially the item on co-operation in the field of endowments.
Minister participates in Peace and Sport Forum
HE the Minister of Youth and Sports, Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali, has taken part in the 8th Peace and Sport International Forum in Monaco.
The conference discussed issues and topics relating to peace and sport in the world through a series of seminars and workshops in which international politicians and senior sport officials have participated.
On the sidelines of the event, the Minister of Youth and Sports met Prince Albert II of Monaco and the president of the forum.
Talks during the meeting dealt with aspects of co-operation and means of enhancing relations between the two countries in the field of youth and sports.
Emir sends Independence Day greetings
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have sent cables of congratulations to Albanian President Bujar Nishani on the anniversary of his country's Independence Day. The Emir, the Deputy Emir and the Prime Minister and Interior Minister have also sent cables of congratulations to Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz on the anniversary of his country's Independence Day.
