H.S. Mudde Gowda, former president of Mandya district Kannada Sahitya Parishat, has urged the Union and State governments to immediately initiate measures to implement the Sarojini Mahishi Committee report on employment opportunities to Kannadigas in industries.

Speaking after inaugurating the Kannada Rajyotsava function at Noukarara Bhavan here on Saturday, he stressed the need for providing employment opportunities to Kannadigas in factories, industries, public sector undertakings and other government supported organisations.

The governments should initiate steps to stop the injustice being done to Kannadigas by the managements of factories and industries in Karnataka.

Priority should be given to unemployed Kannadigas in all sectors in the State, he said. Deputy Commissioner M.N. Ajay Nagabhushan, Superintendent of Police Bhushan Gulabrao Borase and others felicitated meritorious students and a few government employees.

Chief Executive Officer of Mandya Zilla Panchayat B. Sharath, Additional Deputy Commissioner B.R. Poornima, Karnataka Government Employees Association president B.P. Manjegowda and district president of the association K. Nagesh were present.
