Veerabadran to coordinate People’s Welfare Alliance

Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPI (M) State Committee Member M. Veerabadran will coordinate People’s Welfare Alliance in Tiruvannamalai district.

Resolutions

A resolution has been passed to this effect at a district level meeting of constituent parties of the alliance held here recently. K. Mohan, District Secretary of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), presided over the meeting. CPI (M) district secretary M. Sivakumar, CPI District Secretary K. Jothi, MDMK district secretary D. Raja and Coordinator elect Mr. Veerabadran were among those who participated.

Another resolution passed at the meeting states that district, block and town level functionaries’ meeting of the alliance will be held on December 5 to device a plan to face the upcoming assembly elections. Other resolutions demanded the government to compensate farmers (for rain-affected crops such as groundnut and banana etc.) and families whose had lost members in rain related incidents.

A resolution demanded the government to give interest-free loans to farmers to buy seeds. It is also decided to organise cadres and people to participate in the public meeting organised in Madurai on December 12 to explain about the Common Minimum Programme of the alliance.
