Mubs out to stretch lead

Beach soccer. Charles Ayieko’s side have won all four of their opening games this season.

Kampala. Makerere University Business School (Mubs) have not lost in 21 games since the format of the Pepsi National Beach Soccer League was changed at the start of last season to include playoffs from the quarter final stage.
That is the record coach Charles Ayeikoh’s side will be out to protect when the league returns today at Lido Beach following a one-month break. Mubs, who won last year’s title with an unbeaten record, have stretched the run into this season, winning all four of their opening Hurriken Group games thus far.
Although they have played a game less (four) than their pursuers, Mubs lead the Hurikken table standings on 12 points. Nkumba Select are second on 11 points from five games. Third-placed Talented, who have also played five games and lost for the first time 5-2 against Nkumba Select in the last fixture, will be the latest side to confront champions Mubs today. Isma Kawawulo has scored a team high seven goals thus far for Mubs which are six less than Talented’s Allan Kayiwa who has netted 13.
