HARIDWAR: Gayatri Vidyapeeth, school of Gayatri Shantikunj, organised its annual day function here yesterday.

Gayatri Vidyapeeth, school of Gayatri Shantikunj, organised its annual day function here yesterday.

Folk cultural programmes related with hill culture were the major attractions of the function.

The programme commenced with the lighting of a traditional lamp amidst chanting of Saraswati hymn.

Dev Sanskriti University Vice Chancellor Sharad Paridhi said students should be helped to enhance overall personality development, of which co-curricular activities play a vital part. He said the difference among Gayatri Vidyapeeth students and other school students was easily visible. He urged other educational institutions to impart moral-based education.

Gayatri Vidyapeeth Principal SN Mishra said school gives importance to co-curricular activities and sports. Divya Yadav and Ashish Jain coordinated the programme.—TNS
