‘Papa’ a cop; son a traffic offender

Son of a police sub-inspector posted as station officer of Amethi Kotwali turned out to be the blatant traffic offender caught by TOI lensman Ajay Kumar over Vibhuti Khand Picup flyover on November 26. A graduation student in his early 20s, Susheel has been identified as the errant driver.

LUCKNOW: Son of a police sub-inspector posted as station officer of Amethi Kotwali turned out to be the blatant traffic offender caught by TOI lensman Ajay Kumar over Vibhuti Khand Picup flyover on November 26. A graduation student in his early 20s, Susheel has been identified as the errant driver.
Having converted the last four digits of his Maruti Swift Dzire UP 32 GJ - 4141 as Papa (devanagri font refer to picture), Susheel also had black film on the sedan’s windows, making it difficult for anybody to see what was happening inside.
To top it all, he also a blue beacon while moving around the city.
All this, when Susheel’s father Indraraj Yadav is supposed to rein in unruly people who are found on the wrong side of the law. Additional superintendent of traffic police Habibul Hasan said that an explanation will be sought from Yadav. “Law enforcer should not be seen violating rules. The message is clear,” said Hasan.
Acting on the photograph printed in the paper two days ago, traffic police on Saturday evening traced the owner of the Maruti Swift Dzire. The car was registered in the name of Krishnangar resident Indraraj Yadav.
Traffic sub-inspector of Krishnanagar area, Surendra Kumar Yadav fined Indraraj for flouting rules laid down under Motor Vehicles Act. The car had tinted glasses and registration number was displayed in a fancy manner. Registration plate had been changed and fine amount collected. As blue beacon was not found on the spot, no challan was issued for sporting beacon illegally.
