Chris Isaak to headline Leeuwin Concert at Margaret River

CHARISMATIC crooner Chris Isaak is set headline the 32nd annual Leeuwin Concert at Margaret River in February.

Loved for his self-deprecating humour and audience interaction, the 59-year old American was a massive hit when he last performed at Leeuwin in 2009.

The roots balladeer, who is equally at home belting out rock ‘n’ roll, is a sharp change from this year’s main act, Britain’s biggest opera star Bryn Terfel, was backed by The Perth Symphony Orchestra.

The Welsh baritone followed jazz pianist Diana Krall, who performed at the event in 2014.

Isaak, from California, is known to young Australians for his role this year as an X Factor judge, but he also has a legion of fans for his catalogue of hits, such as Wicked Game, Somebody’s Crying and Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing.

Isaak has sold more than a million albums in Australia alone including 11 ARIA top 20 albums.

The singer-songwriter also has an impressive list of acting credits, featuring in a number of movies and playing himself in The Chris Isaak Show.

When he last played at Leeuwin, fans flew in from all over the country and even Japan for the show, which is made more special because of its stunning setting among the karri trees near Margaret River.

A highlight on the WA social calendar, The Leeuwin Estate Concert Series is attended by WA’s movers and shakers from the worlds of business and politics.
